Summary of Rules for Best Research Papers Award

1.Modalidad Premio al mejor trabajo de investigación:

• Have been published between January 2024 and December 2024 -both inclusive- as «original articles», “short originals” or “research letters”. Submitted articles must be published in a 2024 issue; ahead-of-print publications are not accepted.
• First or last signatory or senior author/corresponding of the research paper within the list of authors.
• The evaluation will be carried out based on the Journal Citation Indicator 2023 of the journal in which the research paper was published. The Journal Citation Indicator is a new indicator incorporated in the JCR 2021 edition to measure all journals included in the JCR. It is a «normalised» metric that theoretically allows the comparison of journals between different categories. Its value represents the average impact of citations normalised by category for articles published over the three-year period.
• The following categories will be distinguished: Research staff born in 1980 or later, Research staff born before 1980.
• En cada una de las categorías anteriores, se establecerán tres niveles (primero, segundo y tercer premio) para los mejores trabajos de investigación de cada categoría. La dotación será la siguiente: Primer Premio: 2.000 €, Segundo Premio: 1.500 €, Tercer Premio: 100 €.

2.Modalidad Premio al artículo de colaboración:

Resumen Bases Mejores Tesis Doctorales

Researchers who have defended their Doctoral Thesis, within the area of biomedical sciences, or areas of knowledge related to health sciences, in the period between January 2024 and December 2024 (both included).

1.Publications. Se incluirán sólo las publicaciones relacionadas con la Tesis candidata al premio.

• 7 points for a first-decile publication in which the doctoral candidate appears as main author.
• 4 points for a first-quartile publication in which the doctoral candidate appears as main author.
• 2 points for a second-quartile publication in which the doctoral candidate appears as main author.
• 1 point for a publication in other quartiles in which the doctoral candidate appears as main author.
• 2 points for a first-decile publication in which the doctoral candidate does not appear as main author.
• 1 point for a first-quartile publication in which the doctoral candidate does not appear as main author.
• 0.5 points for a second-quartile publication in which the doctoral candidate does not appear as main author.
• 0.25 points for a publication in other quartiles in which the doctoral candidate does not appear as main author.

La mejor Tesis del 2024 estará dotada de un premio económico de 500 €.
