Who are we?
The Puerta de Hierro–Segovia de Arana Health Research Institute (IDIPHISA) is organised through governing bodies (Governing Council and Standing Committee), advisory bodies (External Scientific Committee and Research Committee), executive management under its Scientific Director, and the management body, the Biomedical Research Foundation of Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda.
In 2016, the Institute – which already comprised the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital, the Autonomous University of Madrid and what is now the Directorate-General for Planning, Research and Training of the Regional Ministry of Health – saw the Infanta Cristina University Hospital join its research activities in the priority areas, thereby strengthening collaboration and cooperation with other centres and research groups.
In July 2017, our Institute was renamed the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital – Segovia de Arana Institute for Health Research (IDIPHISA) in honour of Professor Segovia de Arana’s significant contribution to the world of medicine and research.
The Institute currently has 5 research areas and 43 research groups.
