Care Research Unit
The Research Unit in Nursing at the Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda University Hospital (HUPHM) promotes research among professionals under the Nursing Directorate and provides support in the development of research studies at all stages for generalist nurses and specialists (nurses, geriatrics, pediatrics, mental health, occupational nursing), physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, resident intern nurses (EIR) of various specialties, and Master's and PhD students.
This is one of the first Research Support Units in Nursing in Spain, the first at the level of the Community of Madrid. The challenges set from the outset were aimed at promoting research in nursing, innovating in the management of research in care, innovating in care, and motivating a greater number of professionals to lead research in care. It also aimed to promote training in research for nursing professionals, foster evidence-based practice, promote the conduct of multicenter studies, establish synergies with research support units within the center itself and with other centers at regional, national, and international levels.
The Care Research Unit provides scientific-technical support to the Nursing Directorate, the Quality Unit, and other Departments or Units that require it. It also collaborates with the Nursing Directorate in various working groups to provide scientific-technical support for all initiatives of interest to the hospital. Likewise, it collaborates with the Nursing Directorate, Continuing Education and the Quality Unit in organising scientific events and/or scientific-technical management.
