The Scientific Directorate of the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria Puerta de Hierro – Segovia de Arana constitutes the management body responsible for participation in the control and management of the Institution, so that it can ensure that the activities it carries out are in accordance with the mission, vision, values and objectives with which it was founded.
The Institute's Scientific Directorate is made up of the Scientific Director and a Deputy Scientific Director, who will be responsible for the Institute's research and training policy.
Functions
- Draw up and prepare IDIPHISA's annual operational programmes and annual research report.
- Prepare the budgets, statement of accounts and other mandatory reports.
- Manage the research infrastructure acquired by IDIPHISA.
- Develop the recruitment policy for research personnel and technical staff to support research activities of IDIPHISA, as established by the Governing Council.
- Communicate and disseminate IDIPHISA's research activities.
- Inform about public and private calls for research projects and other activities related to research.
- Be the highest representative and scientific spokesperson of IDIPHISA before other entities.
- Facilitate the attraction of external resources.
- He/She will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the research carried out at IDIPHISA, and that it is carried out in accordance with ethical principles of conduct, both regarding the research activities and respect for the labor rights of the research staff and technical personnel assisting in the research.
- Propose to the Delegated Committee the necessary measures for the proper functioning of IDIPHISA and implement the decisions adopted by the Delegated Committee.
- Also carry out the functions entrusted to it by the Governing Council and the Delegated Committee.
