New course on scientific dissemination for research staff

Unit Scientific Culture

The training, free of charge and aimed at the staff of the Puerta de Hierro-Segovia Institute of Health Research (IDIPHISA), will address different tools and formats for rigorously communicating science in a way that is accessible, attractive, and engaging.

The Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+I) of IDIPHISA has organized a free scientific dissemination course for IDIPHISA research staff, on October 20 and 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

With a duration of 8 hours, distributed over two days, the course aims to provide the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary to communicate science to the public in a rigorous, accessible, and engaging way.

Different forms of dissemination

Throughout the training, we will learn about different strategies and formats of scientific communication, such as those provided by the media, social networks, and other dissemination channels.

The training will be conducted by professionals with extensive experience in dissemination. The sessions are taught by Jesús Fernández Felipe (@viviendoeldoctorado), Héctor Nafría (@oncoenfermero), José Ángel Morales (@DrAstrocyte) and Álvaro Morales (@fesisisimo), and coordinated by Teresa de los Reyes, head of the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit at IDIPHISA.

Registration and certificate

Registration for the course is free and can be done through the Sanidad Madrid Training App. In addition, the Accreditation of Continuous Training Activities for Health Professions is required.

Individuals who complete the training activity will receive a certificate of completion. However, to obtain this certificate, it is necessary to submit a scientific dissemination project and send it to the UCC+I email address. The project can be presented in any of the formats covered during the course: scientific monologue, an article on scientific dissemination, or content for social media (X thread, TikTok or Instagram video, or scientific photography).

For more information, you can contact ucc@idiphim.org. We hope to count on your participation and continue to promote scientific dissemination together.
