The group has developed a role in applied clinical research on aspects related to the endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early lesions associated with colorectal cancer and other early neoplasms of the digestive tract, as well as in endoscopic techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of biliopancreatic disease. In some of these fields the group has developed animal (pig) training models in collaboration with the Animal Models Research Group.

The group's members have a clinical profile and actively collaborate in national multicentre projects, with and without competitive funding, within research groups of national societies.

The group has recently launched multicentre research projects in the field of digestive endoscopy with competitive funding and private corporate funding.
Group members actively participate in the development of national clinical guidelines in the field of digestive endoscopy.
