Bioinformatics Unit
The mission of the Bioinformatics Unit, created in May 2023, is to provide computational analysis support enabling researchers to access effective solutions when analysing, visualising and interpreting their data, covering the different technological needs associated with data science.
To achieve these objectives, the unit is involved in advising scientists and researchers on the possibilities and benefits obtained from applying bioinformatics and computational biology in their research within the current big data environment.
The unit mainly, but not exclusively, handles genomic data, whether of human or model animal origin. Until now, pipelines have been implemented to carry out the most common analyses related to genomic data.
The unit aims for continuous expansion and updating, improving the services currently offered, as well as incorporating new protocols and services based on the new needs of a continuously expanding field such as data science.
This unit belongs to the transbionet network https://inb-elixir.es/transbionet
